“Just because you are miles away from me, it doesn't mean I can't see you.”
One of the youngest descendants of Arku Khan, Sarnai is an experienced huntress, trapper, and scout for the Monkhu legion. Born in the higher levels of the mountain, Sarnai was raised in a cold, ruthless environment that knew no bounds and demanded strength. Even as a royal descent, survivability is equally challenging to all the settlers of Monkhu, even peasants. Arku Khan set this principle to avoid the probability of having his country ruled by weak parasites unwilling to survive the winter's wrath. Sarnai performed this principle by living off the land of the wild. At age six, Sarnai brought down birds with a bow and arrow she made with sticks, thread, and sharpened stone. At age thirteen, Sarnai planted a trap big enough to imprison a bloodthirsty maku tiger that has hunted the people of her village for months. What became their predator became their source of food for an entire week. At age 16,
she finally tamed Sube, a legendary black eagle that was thought to be a myth.
Being the youngest and only girl among her brothers, who strive towards the heat of battle to trample their enemies. Sarnai found her heart within the mountain itself. Once nobles, generals, and even Arku Khan saw great potential use of her knowledge and skills and decided to give her the privilege of being the country of Monkhu's deadliest trapper. For the past 3 years, Sarnai has consistently kept the mountain under her surveillance by seeking out enemy invaders, planting traps, and landing a clean shot on her victims
Sarnai's use of Sube in hunting is a form of falconry, a respected element in Mongolian culture.
Due to being the direct daughter of the 304-year-old Arku Khan, who is known for being the father, grandfather, great grandfather, and more to hundreds to thousands of offspring, this means Sarnai is a great grand aunt to many despite being twenty-two years old.
Sarnai is based on Shan Yu from Disney's 1998 Mulan.
The name 'Sarnai' comes from the Mongolian dialect meaning 'rose'.
Sarnai's surname "Gunj" or "Goonji" is the name of the rank of princess or lady in the Mongolian hierarchy.
Sarnai has a complicated rivalry with Han Yu.
Arku once forced her to fight a bear as a "life lesson" and she bested it by piercing it with a wooden fork.
