Abbot Yo Yong Ho is a Yu Wushi monk and expert craftsman from the Haisong Kingdom, a district located on the western shores of the Midora prefectures. Despite his devotion to the Jade Mage theology, he took up the talents of carpentry, engineering, and infrastructure refinement. After Yamamura in 3100 RH, he wandered the world looking to renovate and repair temples that were damaged during the war; his endeavors would eventually lead him all the way to the western islands of Tekkan, where he’d repair abandoned shrines and temples that had been decaying long before the yokai invasions.

 

In 3124 RH, Yo Yong Ho received a letter from his home temple in Haisong, which was preparing a defense from an unknown invader and required Yo Yong Ho’s return immediately.  Shortly after receiving this message, the Shogun declared an immediate isolationist policy on the country for both foreigners and Tekkanese people after his army was attacked by the Seigun rebellion. Forbidding Yo Yong Ho’s return and trapping him in Tekkan.

 

Desperate to find a way home, Yo Yong Ho began doing his construction services out of pay instead of out of generosity, which inevitably led to him doing commissions for the even less fortunate, such as private militias, clans, and others who would betray the peace he sought in the first place. Forced to adapt to the ways of the Tekkanese industrial uprising, his knowledge quickly expanded to much more malicious creations that spiraled him into a depression that made him question his own morals.

 

The toll these months took on Yo Yong Ho’s spirit was mightier than any hall he'd ever raised. When approached by the ronin Ryusuke and Anju, who offer a job that will both ease his regrets and pay him a hefty coin to return home and save his home.
